A visit is only possible with an online ticket booking. Generally open on weekends and public holidays from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM.

Last chance: The current exhibitions are only on display until 4 January 2026!

The entrance is wheelchair accessible.

Children under 6 years of age enter free of charge and no ticket is required.
Dogs are unfortunately not allowed, as there are free-roaming peacocks in WAI Park.

    The Gärtnerhaus painting school at WAI offers art education support for your children aged 6 to 14 on selected days while you visit the exhibition.

  • DIRECTIONS

    The Woods Art Institute is located approximately a 15-minute walk from the Reinbek S-Bahn station (HVV line S2) in a western extension of the Sachsenwald forest, providing direct access to Hamburg Central Station. By car, the WAI can be reached via the A24, A25, or B5 motorways.

    Since parking spaces are limited on site, we ask that you use public transport if possible.
