About the Artist
Born in Nagano Prefecture, Japan, in 1929, Yayoi Kusama is one of the most significant contemporary artists worldwide. Her work encompasses drawing, sculpture, painting, film, performance, and immersive installations. She became particularly famous for her characteristic polka-dot patterns and net structures, which continue to define her works to this day.

In 1957, Kusama moved to the USA and established herself in the New York avant-garde scene with large-format paintings, installations, and experimental sculptural works. Since her return to Japan in 1973, her works have been exhibited in renowned museums and exhibitions worldwide.
